The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently browsing the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions into the community.

SASSA will be rendering solutions for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency stated it can be alarmed with regards to the high number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some higher number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This can be due to lack of infrastructure at sassa status Fernie and there is no totally functional office dedicated to service the area on a daily basis. The company place designed for intervention experiences a superior inflow of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it challenging with the office to attend to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra resources to permit the servicing of all shoppers and increase access to Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
